Some Celtic supporters have shared their displeasure with links to Motherwell midfielder Liam Donnelly after it was reported that the Hoops could make a move for him.
Belfast Live published an article on Monday night claiming that Celtic are monitoring the player with a view to making a bid for his services before the end of the January transfer window.
Donnelly, 23, can play in a variety of midfield and defensive positions but has been mostly utilised as a central player anchoring the Steelmen in the middle of the park this term.
Scoring nine goals in all competitions, he’s having a fine campaign and it’s not much of a surprise to hear that bigger clubs are after his services this month.
He won his second cap for Northern Ireland this season in a friendly against Luxembourg and has been included in the wider squad for every competitive match since.
Signing for Motherwell in 2018, he put pen to paper on a contract extension in October that ties him to the club until 2022 (BBC).

With Celtic already possessing many midfield options, it doesn’t seem to be a move that’d make a lot of sense right now, even if he does have a versatility that could be useful to the squad.
These supporters aren’t keen at all though, taking to social media this week to share their thoughts on the reports…
