‘Sources close to player’s camp’ – How Cameron Carter-Vickers feels about immediate Celtic future

Cameron Carter-Vickers is arguably Celtic’s most important player.

Some may vouch for Callum McGregor in that regard, but it’s clear that without the big American at the heart of the defence, Celtic are in tatters.

It was proved once again in pre-season when Carter-Vickers missed the first few games as he recovered from a surgical procedure.

Which is why when Carter-Vickers is linked with a transfer exit, fans start to panic a bit. However, according to The Celtic Star, supporters can feel at ease.

Carter-Vickers ‘happy’ to stay at Celtic this season

Carter-Vickers is liked by Premier League clubs in England, particularly Sunderland and Leeds United. And 67 Hail Hail were told that the American could be ready to return down south.

We were also told that Celtic may have a hard time keeping the defender this summer, with just a month of the current transfer window remaining.

But The Celtic Star are claiming that Carter-Vickers is happy at the Hoops having spoken to sources close to the American’s camp.

The outlet wrote: “Sources close to the player’s camp have confirmed to The Celtic Star that Carter-Vickers is happy at Celtic despite links earlier this summer suggesting that he may seek an exit.”

Carter-Vickers content but Premier League interest is there

This isn’t new though, as 67 Hail Hail were told by our resident transfer correspondent Graeme Bailey that despite Premier League transfer links, Carter-Vickers is in fact ‘really happy’ at the Bhoys.

Bailey said in early June: “There’s a lot of interest in Cameron Carter-Vickers. He’s had an exceptional few years.

“The player is very happy at Parkhead but is he ready to return to the Premier League? I think he might be from what I’m told.

“I think there’s a good three or four Premier League clubs, from what I’m told, who hold a serious interest in him and I think Celtic might be up against it keeping him.

“As we know, every player has his price in this Celtic squad. And I think there’s a real danger that Carter-Vickers leaves.

“That won’t go down well, but Celtic could probably get good money for him. And I think there’s a real chance that he’s not at Celtic come the start of September.”

Carter-Vickers is contracted with Celtic until 2029, meaning the Hoops would be due a sizeable fee for the club’s immovable defensive force.
