When you look at the players who have stood out for Celtic this season, two of the most successful have been the duo that Celtic have spent most money on.
The £9 million striker Odsonne Edouard, and the £7 million centre-back Christopher Jullien.
That £16 million outlay already looks to be money well spent by the Hoops.
Best season for the club
Edouard is currently enjoying his best season so far in a Celtic jersey. His 23 goals are the most he has ever scored in a season, and he looks well on the way to scoring 30 for the first time for the Hoops.
As for Jullien, he has been solid for the Hoops in defence.

He is part of a Hoops side which has only conceded 15 goals in 26 games. Jullien has also scored some vital goals, such as the winner in the 2-1 home win over Lazio and the only goal of the Betfred Cup Final.
Excellent scoring return
The player has scored seven goals so far this season, which is an excellent return for a defender.
The success of the duo should be a pointer towards Celtic’s transfer business in the future. Celtic should not be afraid to splash out on a big signing in the summer transfer window.

If you look at how successful that Jullien and Edouard have been, then it shows that spending big money on a player can pay off.
The Hoops should make at least double their money back on Edouard when he eventually leaves, and the same could be said for Jullien.
If the right player is out there, Neil Lennon and Nick Hammond should not hesitate in approaching Peter Lawwell and asking him to spend big when required.
It has worked out with regard to Jullien and Edouard, who is to say that it won’t work out should Celtic decide to spend big once more as the Hoops aim to win 10 in a row.
