Would Robbie Brady to Celtic be a good idea? That’s the question some are asking themselves after weekend reports linking him with a switch to the Bhoys.
The versatile Irish midfielder is said to be a top target for Celtic this summer as he approaches the end of his contract at English Premier League side Burnley [The Mirror].
Brady is due to hold further talks with Burnley. If they can’t reach an agreement, it’s thought that Celtic will happily make a move for him.
The report indicates that Lennon is pushing on with recruitment plans at Celtic despite there being uncertainty about his future at the club.
There are benefits to a move for Brady. He’s an experienced operator at the elite level, making over 150 appearances in the Premier League, with 93 more in the Championship.
Also earning over 50 caps with the Republic of Ireland, there’s no doubt that the winger knows how to perform at a high level.
Is he the right fit for Celtic though? At 29, he’s not getting any younger and perhaps doesn’t have the kind of creativity we need in the wide positions. His goal and assist record is pretty poor in comparison to games played [Transfermarkt].
Undeniably though, the Scottish Premiership is a lower standard, so perhaps Brady could rejuvenate his career at Celtic in the same way that Scott Sinclair did.

Reaction to the reports hasn’t been overwhelmingly positive. In fact, you can find more negative comments about the potential deal.
