Celtic have been linked with a plethora of talent this summer as Brendan Rodgers looks to close deals and bolster several positional areas.
The Scottish Premiership campaign commences this weekend for the Bhoys against Kilmarnock, and there is hope one or two new arrivals could be announced before then.
Portugal Under-21 international Paulo Bernardo appears most likely, with reports suggesting he is not far off finalising a return to Parkhead following a successful loan spell last term.
Midfield could be an area where significant movement may occur at Celtic. Leicester City are courting Reo Hatate; meanwhile, Matt O’Riley is on both Atalanta and Southampton’s wishlist this summer.
On the other hand, Gianluca Di Marzio has claimed that Venezia star Tanner Tessmann is a target for the reigning Scottish Premiership champions. Now, one of his representatives has spoken out on his current situation.
Tanner Tessmann Celtic links addressed
Speaking on Radio Bruno, Tessmann’s agent Andrea D’Amico has indicated that his price tag may prove difficult for interested suitors.
This follows suggestions that Fiorentina have run into a difference in valuation with Venezia over the United States international, currently featuring for the Stars and Stripes at the Olympics, cited via The Daily Record.

He stated: “Tessmann is still young, he can still grow, he was valued by (Paulo) Vanoli, and he was good at taking advantage of the opportunities he had when other teammates had problems. Tessmann was good at being ready and providing continuity.
Later, he added: “Every player has a price. I don’t think Venezia would want to get rid of such an important player as Tessmann lightheartedly. Making the leap from B to A without a pillar like him for Venezia would not be trivial. Tessmann played football, and he has a great physique; as often happens with Americans, athletes are complete. In America, they work a lot on the athletic aspect.”
Celtic and the need for midfield reinforcements
Realistically, Tessmann is another link that is impossible to pin down in the ever-changing world of Celtic transfer speculation.
When asked about whether there was potential interest from the Bhoys, Rodgers responded by stating [Football Scotland]: “It’s gossip season, and right now it’s just a rumour; there’s a lot of rumours linked with the club.”
Tessmann has registered ten goals and five assists in 99 appearances for Venezia, per Transfermarkt, but it remains to be seen if he could become a Celtic player this summer.
Engine room reinforcements may be needed in the event of any big hitters departing, so it makes sense to have a contingency plan to try and replenish any lost quality.
