The Liel Abada summer story may not be over after it was reported that Celtic are set to receive transfer offers for the attacker.
The Israel international has been a rejuvenated figure under Brendan Rodgers, starting all but one of our early season fixtures.
Abada was widely expected to be one of those departing this club this summer, but a private chat with Rodgers convinced him to stay.
Many would have expected that to be the end of his summer story but now it seems like there may be a twist or two to come.
Sky Sports report in their Friday transfer blog (15:52) that ‘two European clubs’ are set to make offers for the Celtic winger.
That say that one of the clubs is French, while the other is from the Bundesliga. Ajax and Sporting Lisbon are the two other sides still keeping tabs on Abada from earlier in the summer.

The report is likely to come as a surprise to many Celtic supporters who would not have expected to hear any more speculation about Abada’s future during this window.
To be fair to Celtic, there’s nothing they can do about other clubs being interested in one of our players.
Abada signed a five-year contract when he joined the club in 2021, so his deal still has three years to run (Celtic). Given his age and importance to the team, it would likely have to be a pretty large bid to prise him away from Celtic.

Having already lost Jota, Aaron Mooy and Carl Starfelt this summer, it’s important that we keep hold of the rest of our first-team players.
Let’s hope nothing comes from this report.
In other news, Cameron Carter-Vickers is already seeing good things from Maik Nawrocki in training
