Celtic talent Sean McArdle has joined Partick Thistle on loan until the end of the season.
The young midfielder continues his development away from Celtic after Mark Wilson decided to take him to Firhill for a season.
McArdle rose to prominence last season after Brendan Rodgers handed the youngster his Celtic debut in the win over Hibs at Parkhead last season.
Now at Partick Thistle, Firhill boss Mark Wilson reveals the real reason he decided to take the 18-year-old to Glasgow’s south side.

Why Mark Wilson is ‘delighted’ to sign Celtic youngster Sean McArdle
Wilson is no stranger to taking players from Celtic’s Academy as McArdle becomes the third youngster to swap Lennoxtown for Partick Thistle.
And after capturing the talented midfielder, Wilson has shared why he decided to add McArdle to his Partick Thistle squad for the rest of this season.
Wilson told Partick Thistle’s official website, “We’re delighted to add Sean to our squad for this season. He’s a very talented young midfielder who has been playing regular Lowland League football for a couple of seasons now.
“He’s calm and composed on the ball and has that creativity in possession to go and create goals, either by scoring himself or by setting up his teammates.
“We’ve already had Josh Clarke and Ben McPherson come in on loan from Celtic and make a real impact and I’m confident Sean can do similar.”
What Brendan Rodgers once told Sean McArdle about making it at Celtic
As previously said, it was Brendan Rodgers who handed McArdle his two senior Celtic appearances and clearly sees the midfielder as one who can progress at the club.
Rodgers said after the Hibs match last season, “There is always a pathway here for young players. It’s getting that opportunity to come in.
“Sean has done well with the B team. He’s 17 years of age so to come out and get that feeling was great for him.
“He needs to build on that now. He’s got that feeling. He’s not a first team player yet. He’s had an opportunity.
“He’s shown personality when he’s come on and now he needs to speak to Callum McGregor and the guys who have come through the system.
“But now the really hard work begins to try and sustain that.”
