Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers will be keen to take a worldwide view of potential assets that could walk through the Parkhead entrance this summer.
Although locally sourced talent can benefit the club for several reasons, diamonds can be found across the globe due to the wonders of detailed modern scouting.
According to reports, Celtic have turned to Costa Rica in their latest hunt for a star of the future, with Herediano forward Andy Rojas of interest to the Bhoys.
Potentially available for under £1 million, the 18-year-old is said to have a proposal from an unnamed Portuguese outfit on the table, per his club vice-president Aquil Ali.
Their sporting director, Robert Garbanzo, has now let slip that a second side has made advances to land the youngster following his appearance at Copa America this summer.
The latest on Andy Rojas amid Celtic links
Cited via The Daily Record, Garbanzo signified that there are now two ‘formal’ offers on the table for Rojas, as he stated: “We have now received two formal offers for Andy. I am not going to say the names of the club.”
“We hope to make the best decision for the club, both financially and sportingly for Andy. In fact, the reason Andy was included in the squad for the Final so soon after the Copa America was for his benefit.

“It was a showpiece game played at the National Stadium and the ideal way to show off his many talents. The game showed the talents of an 18-year-old kid to the world.”
Rojas has struck 11 times in 56 appearances during his fledgling career at Herediano and looks to be someone that could develop into an exciting player on the European stage, per Transfermarkt.
Clubs from the continent, alongside Mexico and the United States, have also shown their admiration towards the youngster, meaning Celtic could have a fight on their hands to secure his signature.
Clearly, he is a sought-after prodigy who is being primed for a move elsewhere in the forthcoming months. As it stands, it is anyone’s guess as to where he ends up.
