Nir Bitton is one of a few Celtic players who are out of contract at the end of the season. The Hoops utility man, who has been at the club since 2013, has yet to sign a new deal with the club.
However, Celtic boss Neil Lennon hopes that changes soon.
“Hopefully we can get it sorted”

“Obviously we know about his contract situation and that’s something we’ll be looking to change as we go along too. Hopefully we can get it sorted soon” Lennon said, as reported by the Scottish Sun.
It is understandable why Lennon wants to give Bitton a new deal when you look at his performance in the recent 2-0 win over Rangers.
Bitton teamed up with Christopher Jullien in the centre of defence, in a partnership which had rarely played together.
However, you would have thought that the duo had been playing together for years, so composed were they against any threat posed by Rangers.
Arguably man of the match until injury struck

It can be argued that Bitton was on his way to a man of the match performance. That was until he was forced off with a hamstring injury. The injury will keep him out of action for a month.
The injury will be a blow to the player. But it could be soothed if he agrees a new deal with the Hoops. It should also be remembered that Bitton is one of the few players who were at Celtic in Neil Lennon’s first spell as manager.
Lennon will not want to lose a player who he signed for the club in the first place. He also trusts the player to play in big games – like Ibrox.
Hopefully the discussions between Bitton’s representatives and Celtic are concluded soon, and he signs a new deal with the club.
His performance at Ibrox shows that he still has plenty to offer Celtic, even after six years at the club.
