Former Celtic cult hero Vidar Riseth has made a bold transfer prediction that should please the Hoops fans. He believes that the Hoops have a more than decent chance of signing transfer target Rosenborg’s Birger Meling.
Riseth’s believes that Norway’s familiarity and admiration of Celtic would give the Hoops a real chance of signing the player before the transfer deadline. The current success of Kristoffer Ajer could also be a factor.
“Norwegian people like Celtic. Ajer is obviously there now and is doing well” Riseth said, as reported by the Herald.
“The best chance”

“That is why Celtic have the best chance to beat the other clubs who are interested in signing Meling – because Norwegian football players know them and like them” he concluded.
Riseth’s reasons are a tad unexpected. However, the success of Ajer could persuade Meling to make the move to Glasgow.
He has become a key man for the Hoops in the last year. Perhaps Meling could follow in his footsteps.
Hoops may need to wait to make move

Celtic may need to wait at least another week before making a more for the left-back though. He is set to feature for Rosenborg in their Champions League play-off clash against Dinamo Zagreb on Wednesday night.
The Hoops may need to wait until the outcome of that tie has been decided before potentially signing Meling. However, it is a promising sign that Riseth thinks that the player could well make the move to Glasgow.
