Japanese club Vissel Kobe have announced they will have a farewell ceremony for Kyogo Furuhashi as he prepares to travel to Celtic.

The event takes place at 10 am Kobe time on Sunday 18th July.

Vissel Kobe said: “We are pleased to inform you that the “Transfer Send-off Party” for Tyogo Furuhashi to Celtic FC will be held at Noevir Stadium Kobe from 10:00 on Sunday, July 18th.

“Although it will be held in a hurry, it is an event where Furuhashi will greet fans and supporters. So please wear Furuhashi’s goods and participate in it. No prior application is required to participate. You can participate for free.”

However, it also seems that Furuhashi won’t be travelling to Scotland until next week, rather than this weekend.

The attacker has signed a four-year deal at the club and fans will be hoping to see him in action as quickly as possible.

However, given the scale of the move and the potential for adjustment to Scotland, we may have to remain patient for a big debut.

We can at least be confident he will be fit and ready to go. He has been playing regularly in the Japanese top-flight recently, scoring 14 goals in 20 league appearances.

If he can bring that kind of form to Celtic early, it won’t take long for fans to take to him as a real favourite.
