Celtic have officially announced the signing of Jonjoe Kenny on loan from Everton.
The right-back joins from the Premier League side until the end of the season.
There is no mention of an option-to-buy the 23-year-old.
Kenny is an academy graduate at the Toffees and has made 48 appearances in total [Transfermarkt].
The defender also made 34 appearances on loan at Bundesliga side Schalke last season, scoring twice and assisting three times.
One of those goals was a belter against Hertha Berlin in a 3-0 win, which you can see on the BT Sport Twitter account.
Obviously, scoring goals won’t be in his job description at Celtic, but if he can bang in a few like that then fans will quickly warm to him.
Celtic had badly needed a right-back after the exit of Jeremie Frimpong to Bayer Leverkusen.
Neil Lennon is very happy with the signing.
In his press conference earlier today, the Bhoys boss said: “He’s a player I’ve liked for a while. He was at Everton obviously and had a very good career at English youth and 21 levels.

“Then I watched him quite a bit of him last season when he was on loan at Schalke. He was playing in a struggling team but I quite liked his qualities, quite liked his enthusiasm for the game and I quite liked his character.
“He’s a bubbly sort of personality and he plays that way as well. I wouldn’t say he’s similar to Frimpong because everyone is different but he’s a bonafide right-back who has come here to try and make us better.”
Despite everything going on at Celtic right now, hopefully our new signing is a hit.
