Celtic are reportedly looking to sign Sweden international Benjamin Nygren.
Brendan Rodgers is looking to add depth to his Celtic first-team this summer and sees the FC Nordsjaelland right winger as a player who could do just that.
The Scottish Sun have reported that Celtic are eyeing a ‘bargain’ £2m transfer move for Nygren who is out of contract in six months’ time.
However, Rodgers does face competition for the Sweden attacker with Anderlecht and FC Copenhagen also keen on the Celtic-linked Swede.
But it’s what Nygren said about his future just over a week ago that will interest Celtic fans as he admits he will leave the club.

Benjamin Nygren admitted he will leave FC Nordsjaelland before Celtic interest
Nygren is out of contract in December this year and has just broken into the Swedish national squad. And after scoring two goals in four appearances for Sweden interest in the 23-year-old is high.
But in an interview just over a week ago, Nygren confirmed he will leave the Danish club and where he sees himself playing in the future.
Nygren told Fotbollskanalen, “It’s clear that there is a lot of interest. I have done extremely well this whole season. I have scored 15 goals and a few assists in a position as a number ten.
“I am not a number nine who will score goals but more of a player who will create chances and set up others.
“But this season I have scored a lot of goals and shown my qualities. I did that last season too, and I was injured for half of that season.
“It is a league and a team that has a lot of interest and eyes on them, and I have been a big contributing factor to us being as good as we have been.
“I will leave. I’m not thinking about the league, but more about coming to a club that shares my ambitions and that believes in me extremely much.”
Benjamin Nygren’s wonder goal for Sweden and goal stats as Celtic circle
Nygren has made 196 career appearances, scoring 62 goals and creating 20, including his time in Gothenburg’s youth squad.
However, whilst at FC Nordsjaelland he has 107 appearances, 35 goals and 8 assists. And in his third appearance for Sweden, Nygren scored this wonder goal in a 2-0 win over Hungary.
Nygren certainly looks the part and with Celtic’s success with Swedish players in the past, could the international forward be another Swede who prospers in Paradise?
