Hyunjun Yang is a player who has divided Celtic fan opinion.

Signing for the Parkhead club in the summer of 2023, Hyunjun Yang has flattered to deceive for the majority of his Celtic career.

The South Korean has impressed Celtic fans sporadically but has been nowhere near consistent enough to hold down a regular Parkhead starting spot.

And now that he has two full seasons under his belt, it appears that Yang could be on his way out of Celtic after Norwich City look to sign the inconsistent winger.

Hyunjun Yang has ‘signalled his intention’ to leave Celtic amid Norwich City interest

Yang has been a bit-part player for Celtic since the club decided to splash out £2m for the winger in 2023.

In 65 appearances, the 23-year-old has scored just seven goals and created nine assists in 2,592 minutes in the green and white Hoops.

And as Norwich City look to sign the Celtic winger, Sky Sports’ Anthony Joseph has shared what Yang has told the Parkhead club about a potential summer exit.

Joseph said on X, “Norwich City have expressed their interest in Celtic winger Hyunjun Yang.

“It’s understood the South Korea international has signalled his intention to explore a move, amid interest in England & Europe.

“Celtic FC yet to decide on whether to let the 23-year-old go.”

Hyunjun Yang’s biggest achievements since joining Celtic

Yang was a raw winger when he first joined Celtic in 2023. After being relegated with Gangwon from the K-League, Rodgers still decided to bring him to the Scottish champions.

Whilst his form has been erratic, Yang has still achieved plenty at Celtic over the last two seasons.

Winning two league titles, a Scottish Cup and a League Cup, the Celtic winger’s time at the club could be viewed as a success on a personal level for the Korean.

However, Yang’s biggest personal accomplishment whilst at Celtic is undoubtedly being capped for his country. With four caps to his name, if Yang makes the move to England and is a success, more appearances for South Korea will certainly feature in his future.
