RB Leipzig’s interest in Nicolas Kuhn is ramping up by the day.

The Celtic winger enjoyed a fantastic 2024/25 season, scoring 21 goals and assisting 15 times in 51 appearances across the campaign.

The German’s form did fall off a cliff in the second half of the season, but his numbers are impressive and he made an impact on the Champions League.

That’s why his former club RB Leipzig are after him. The 25-year-old spent time in their academy as a youngster before moving to Ajax.

Celtic reportedly want £17m for Kuhn, as stated by a German media outlet. Although RB Leipzig will try and haggle that down to £15m.

So where would he rank among Celtic’s most expensive sales ever? 67 Hail Hail takes a look below.

Kuhn would be Celtic’s fifth most expensive sale ever

As far as the top 10 is concerned, if Celtic were to sell Kuhn for £17m to RB Leipzig, he would be the fifth highest sale of all-time.

Coming in at number one is, of course, Matt O’Riley. Brighton decided to splurge £26m on the Danish international last summer.

He remains Celtic’s record sale having overtaken both Jota and Kieran Tierney. Both were sold for £25m to Al-Ittihad and Arsenal respectively.

Then it’s one of Celtic’s most talented strikers of the 21st century, perhaps even just behind Henrik Larsson in that regard – Moussa Dembele.

He was sold for £20m to Olympique Lyonnais, who have just been demoted to Ligue 2 for being in hundreds of millions in debt.

Kuhn would come in under those four at £17m. Even if the German was sold for £15m, he would still be in fifth spot ahead of Odsonne Edouard.

Crystal Palace spent £14m on the Frenchman, although his time in London has not worked out despite scoring twice on his debut for the club.

As you can see, Southampton are prone to buying big from the Bhoys. They have sent £34m to Celtic for Victor Wanyama, Virgil van Dijk and Fraser Forster over the years.

Kristoffer Ajer is still playing for Brentford in the Premier League, while Liel Abada has scored five goals in 18 MLS games for Charlotte FC so far in 2025.

Kyogo makes up the list above and it’s likely Rennes will look to part ways with the Japanese striker after a torrid few months for him in France.
