Daniel Iversen birthplace, nationality, position, height and weight

Daniel Lonne Iversen was born in Born in Gording, Denmark, on 19 July 1997. The 28-year-old Danish international stands 1.93m (6’4″) tall and weighs approximately 80kg.

He is a specialist goalkeeper currently playing for Preston North End, where he utilises his significant physical presence as a primary shot-stopper.

Daniel Iversen on working with Kasper Schmeichel

While Iversen is unlikely to get the chance to play with Kasper Schmeichel as he looks set to leave Celtic, the fellow countryman previously worked alongside him at Leicester City.

Iversen was his understudy at the Foxes and working with a Premier League title winner was a huge honour for him in his early development.

He told Bold.dk in 2019: “It is a privilege (to train with Schmeichel). He is really good at learning, and I learn something just by seeing him train and experience the hard work he puts into it. It is golden grain for me.”

Daniel Iversen’s playing style

The 28-year-old is a traditional, commanding shot-stopper known for elite reflexes and a “star” stance in one-on-one situations inspired by Schmeichel.

While he is highly proactive in claiming crosses and organising his defence, he typically prioritises safe distribution over complex playmaking from the back.

These physical attributes and his consistent save percentage make him one of the most reliable traditional goalkeepers in the Championship.

How to pronounce Daniel Iversen’s name

In English, the name is typically pronounced DAN-yull EYE-ver-sun.

In his native Danish, the pronunciation is slightly softer: DAN-yel EE-ver-sen, with the “I” sounding like a long “E” and the “v” having a subtle “w” quality.
