Celtic fans will be hoping that the club will soon start to spend the money they received from Arsenal for Kieran Tierney. The left-back joined the Premier League side after a protracted transfer saga for £25 million.
It will be interesting to see if the Hoops follow up their interest in players they have been reported to be interested in. One such player is Paris FC’s Silas Wamangituka.
Manger reportedly scouted player
The Scottish Sun reported in April that the Hoops were interested in signing the striker, and that Neil Lennon watched the player in action.
The report went on to suggest that the player would cost around £4.5 million to sign.
Wamangituka, who is 19, had an excellent season for Paris in Ligue 2 last year, scoring 11 goals.
Previous signing gamble has paid off
People may think any move for the player would be a gamble. But the gamble to sign Odsonne Edouard from the French league has paid off.
He might have had more top-level experience than Wamangituka. But the signing was still a gamble. So far, it has paid off.
Some fans may feel that Celtic don’t need another striker. However, even before Neil Lennon was officially appointed as manager he felt that the position was a ‘priority’.
He has not yet signed a striker this summer. Perhaps that player could be Wamangituka. Celtic have time to get a deal done. But fans will want to see new arrivals in as soon as possible. Only time will tell if the Hoops resurrect their interest in the player.
