Will Lennon move for O’Donnell and Taylor now that he has millions to spend?

Neil Lennon has confirmed to the Scottish Sun that he plans to go on a spending spree with the money that the Hoops have received for Kieran Tierney from Arsenal.

He has indicated that he wants the Hoops to sign five players. Two of those players are a left-back, and a right-back.

It would not be a surprise to see the Hoops move for the Kilmarnock duo of Stephen O’Donnell and Greg Taylor. The Rugby Park duo fit the criteria of players that Lennon wants to bring to Celtic.

Both players were key men for Steve Clarke during his very successful spell as Killie manager. O’Donnell, who is a right-back, recently rejected a new contract from Kilmarnock. His contract expires next year, so perhaps Kilmarnock will be keen to sell if a new deal can’t be reached.

Left-back issue is pressing

The left-back issue is more pressing, which is where Taylor comes in. The Daily Record reported that the player is on the list of potential replacements for Tierney.

If that is the case, the move should be completed as quickly as possible.

Celtic can’t allow the £25 million they have received for Tierney to go to waste. It must be spent on key areas of the team. Therefore, they must move quick to get some deals done. It would be no surprise if the Kilmarnock duo were the first two signings of the post-Tierney era.
