Would Henri Lansbury swap the Premier League for Celtic?

Aston Villa may be playing Premier League football this summer. However, there is no guarantee that midfielder Henri Lansbury will be a regular starter.

Last season he was limited to only five appearances for Villa. You would have to think that he could be on his way out of Villa soon enough, to find some regular football.

He is a player that should be on Celtic’s radar if he becomes available. He might have found it hard to get into the Villa team, but if he can replicate his Nottingham Forest form he would be an excellent addition to the Celtic squad.

Lansbury scored 33 goals and had 20 assists in 150 appearances for Forest. That is a terrific return for a central midfielder.

Celtic should always be looking to add to their pool of central midfielders. They cannot risk running the likes of Scott Brown and Callum McGregor into the ground.

The only question to ask is would the player swap potentially playing in the Premier League for the Scottish Premiership? As he has rarely featured for Villa, the answer would have to be ‘yes’.

Celtic will be looking to add more players to the squad before the domestic season begins in a weeks’ time. Lansbury is definitely a player who should be under consideration for the club.
