Sky Sports has reported that sources close to Boli Bolingoli have revealed that he wasn’t in Spain meeting with another club.

The saga over the Belgian taking a secret trip abroad before failing to quarantine upon his return just won’t go away. Boli is still feeling the wrath of the support, the media, and his manager.

It was put to Neil Lennon yesterday that there was a rumour doing the rounds about Boli being in Spain to meet with representatives of a different team. Lennon said he wasn’t aware of that, but that if it was indeed the case, Boli would be in “even more trouble“.

However, Sky Sports has reported that those close to Boli have dismissed that notion. Instead, the defender was apparently only out of the country for a “short break”.

Boli’s time is up

After watching Lennon’s press conference yesterday, it looks as though Boli’s days here are numbered. He didn’t only call the Belgian out throughout the presser, but he also claimed that it would be “very difficult” for him to return from this.

Yet, despite the fact that Sky are reporting he may not have been in Spain to meet with other representatives, it would make sense given the short nature of the trip. It’s difficult to see the logic in a one-day jaunt so far away.

Moving forward, it looks as though a decision won’t be made on Boli immediately. Given the fact the player is quarantining at the moment, Celtic would surely only discuss his future in a classy, face-to-face manner. We aren’t the kind of club that goes around sacking players by text.

Many Celtic supporters have already made their positions on the matter perfectly clear. Plenty want him gone and an example made of him.

Should he depart, it will bring to an end a highly-disappointing spell in Glasgow for Boli. Signed for £3million last summer (Scottish Sun), his career here couldn’t have gone more disastrously after he lost his first-team spot within six months. For now, however, we wait to hear the final judgement on him.

In other news, Celtic may be set for a big blow when it comes to the rearrangement of the St Mirren and Aberdeen fixtures.
