The Green Brigade and Bhoys Celtic fan groups, alongside North Curve Celtic, will unite to turn out in numbers for the SWPL 1 title clash between Celtic FC Women and Glasgow City.

The club have already confirmed that the match on Thursday, May 11th will be free to season ticket holders and take place at Celtic Park. Now, the Ultras groups have made a plea for the wider support to turn out in numbers.

In a joint announcement on Monday night, the fan groups say they will get together and congregate behind the goals at the Jock Stein Stand end of the stadium – dubbed The Celtic End – to create as vibrant an atmosphere as possible.

Celtic FC Women are trying to make history

Fran Alonso’s side are currently locked in a battle for their first-ever league title, sitting two points behind the historically dominant City with just five games remaining.

The Ghirls opened up a wider gap on third-placed Rangers over the weekend, now having a three-point cushion in that all-important race to secure UEFA Women’s Champions League football, too.

There’s a massive derby on the way this Thursday night at home to Rangers before a trip to face Partick Thistle on Sunday. Then City will visit Celtic Park, and apparently thousands of fans, on May 11th with kick-off set for 7:30 pm.

With a Scottish Cup final at Hampden to look forward to, as well, it’s not just Celtic’s men’s team that has a lot to play for in the closing stages of the season. This could be a famous campaign on all fronts when all is said and done.

Celtic FC Women will relish the opportunity to play in front of a large support and it’d be fantastic to see the stadium filled as much as possible for the mid-week clash. It could be the catalyst needed to secure a massive win over City and power on to that league title.
