With all the media focus surrounding the appointment of Brendan Rodgers as the new Celtic manager, the Celtic fans have a lot to look forward to for the coming season.
But not only with the men’s team. Fran Alonso has been busy in the close season already and has made his first summer signing as he looks to build on last season’s success.
Celtic have signed 21-year-old midfielder, Jenny Smith from Hearts. And Smith was clearly delighted at joining the club on a three-year deal.

Smith said [Celtic TV], “It feels great to have secured the move. Celtic is obviously a massive club, who have high ambitions.
“In terms of the style of play, playing against this Celtic team whilst at Hearts, the girls were a very good side and hard to break down.
“So it is something that I am looking forward to being a part of.
“I am a really attacking player. I like to get forward, but I work hard to get back and do the defensive work. I also like to create as many opportunities for myself and for the team as possible.
“Obviously everyone always wants to win trophies, and compete at the top of the league for the title and that is something that you want to be a part of at Celtic.”

A product of the Hearts academy, Smith has over 100 first-team appearances after making her debut at just 15-years-old.
Described as a ‘nimble and dynamic number ten’ by her former club Hearts [Hearts FC], Smith was reportedly being released by the Midlothian club but Celtic wasted no time in snapping her up. [Edinburgh Evening News]
The youngster has been capped by Scotland at u19 level five times and is surely going to be a valuable addition to the squad for the coming season ahead.
