The appointment of Brendan Rodgers to a second spell at Celtic certainly raised a lot of eyebrows not only in the media but also with the Celtic fans.

Even though it was over four years ago, it seems just like yesterday that Rodgers left us to join Leicester City to manage in the English Premier League.

And for some fans, those feelings that they felt at that time still feel the same as they do now. But for others, they have welcomed Rodgers back with open arms.

After Celtic announced the appointment of Rodgers yesterday, the club hadn’t arranged a date of when the new manager will be facing questions from the press.

According to the Daily Record, the press conference is scheduled for this coming Friday and it is sure to be one that is highly anticipated by the Celtic supporters regardless of whether you agree with the appointment or not. No time has been announced as yet.

For those that oppose the appointment, they will likely look to see if the 50-year-old addresses the way he left Celtic in 2019. They may also be looking for hints of remorse from the Celtic manager.

Whether they get the answers they require or the reaction they need is another thing entirely.

But what every single fan will be interested in is how is he going to take Celtic forward in Europe. How is Rodgers going to maintain our domestic dominance over Rangers? And what area of the team does he believe he needs to strengthen or let players go?

Undoubtedly, Rodgers has inherited a Celtic squad that no new manager has ever had the privilege of walking into before. Well, with the exception of Neil Lennon. He took over the Invincibles squad but it is fair to say that the squad depth then was nowhere near what it is now.

It will be interesting to hear his thoughts on that. Are there any fringe players that he believes could play a part in his vision of the club? David Turnbull? Mikey Johnston? Both players are young enough to still develop but equally, both have to oust players of immense quality to get the opportunity to do so.

Whatever questions are asked, you can be sure that every Celtic fan will be glued to Celtic TV to find out the answers.
