Celtic supporters will again have the opportunity to watch the women’s team in action live on the BBC this weekend.

Fran Alonso’s outfit takes on Glasgow City in a mammoth home derby match that could well have implications for a potential title race.

Both sides are expected to be competing for honours at the end of the season after last term’s exciting league finish.

With City very much a team in transition after the departure of Scott Booth, Sunday’s match is a massive chance for Celtic to show they mean business.

Alonso’s team got off to winning ways last weekend away to Aberdeen, winning 4-2 in a match broadcast live on BBC Alba.

And that’s the channel destination for us again this Sunday. Alba are broadcasting the 16:00 kick-off live with their usual mix of Gaelic commentary and English analysis.

We had the opportunity to speak to new signing Charlie Wellings earlier this week and she told 67 Hail Hail she is expecting a tough encounter.

Last week’s double scorer said: “You’re always going to play them at some point. But for me personally, it’s a good benchmark to see where we’re at and see what we need to work on.

“They’re obviously coming to win the game and kick back after a defeat. We fully expect that, and we know the players they have in their team and the quality.

“We know it’s going to be a tough game, but we believe in ourselves.”

Good luck to the team and their quest of picking up another three points!
