The Swedish champions made their move for Sadiku after we told yesterday how the Celtic Women’s manager was looking to leave the Parkhead club.
The Swede created history at Celtic after leading the Women’s team to their first-ever league title and into the Champions League group stages for the first time in the club’s history.

But now, a new challenge at BK Hacken awaits the former Celtic Women’s boss as Sadiku explains why she chose to leave the Hoops for the Scandinavian club.

Elena Sadiku reveals why she left Celtic for BK Hacken
In an announcement by the Swedish club yesterday, Sadiku explained why the Celtic exit made sense for her.
Sadiku told BK Hacken’s official website, “I feel honored and proud to be entrusted with leading the Swedish champions.
“I have always followed BK Häcken and been inspired by their strategy, vision and ambitions.
“I look forward to being a part of this and continuing to develop what BK Häcken has managed to build together with players, leaders and the entire club.”
BK Hacken director’s gushing praise of ex-Celtic manager Sadiku
It seems that Hacken are delighted with the capture of Sadiku as director Martin Ericsson explains the coaching qualities that made the former Celtic manager a priority signing.
Ericsson said, “We have been looking for a coach who can come in and continue to develop and refine what we have built up.
“Elena is very driven and interested in the next step, in the development of both us as a team and club and of herself – combined with the experience she has built up in recent years.
“There is a clarity in her that we should do this together that we like.”
Celtic fans will be grateful to Sadiku and she will always be remembered for the success she brought to the club.
A new chapter begins now at Celtic Women and if that brings the kind of success Sadiku did, then the team will be in a good place moving forward.
