Young attacker Adam Brooks was keen to play at a higher level than the Lowland League this season, although did share he enjoyed his time playing in the division with Celtic B last year.
Brooks has left Celtic at the end of his contract to sign for Inverness Caledonian Thistle and is aiming for regular senior football in the Scottish Championship, as the Highland side eye a promotion push.
He’s signed a two-year deal with the club, who hold the option of a third. Asked about his decision to leave Glasgow and move up north, Brooks told The Inverness Courier: “Obviously speaking to Billy Dodds and saying this could be a pathway for a first-team opportunity, to just get away and play football and hopefully take my career to the next level.
“I see this as a challenge, having a challenge like this is good for me and I can’t wait to hopefully go on and excel. It was clear to see when I spoke to Billy the ambition this year is to get up. After watching the game today I have the belief that we can go up. Hopefully, I will be part of that.
“I enjoyed last year with Celtic B, I picked up some confidence and felt that it was the time to go and push on to another level and see if I could kick on from there. Billy was an unbelievable player and this is a chance to learn from the best. I can’t wait to see what he is like in training and what he can bring to my game.”
Brooks scored 15 times in all competitions for Celtic B last season and became an important part of the side coached by Darren O’Dea and Stephen McManus.

However, he never seemed to be part of the small group on the brink of a senior breakthrough with the Bhoys, with others such as Rocco Vata and Ben Summers getting first-team opportunities.
The 19-year-old appears to have a degree of confidence that he will get senior minutes with Inverness CT next term, so it’ll be intriguing to see how he gets on in the Championship. All the best with the chances that come your way Adam!
