Celtic youngster Mitchel Frame has signed a new three-year deal at the club.
The club confirmed the news on Friday afternoon, with the 17-year-old’s new contract seeing him remain on our books until at least 2026. (Celtic)
Frame has been at Celtic since he was nine years old, gradually working his way through the ranks to his current position in the B team.
The left-back signed his first professional deal at the start of last season and spent the campaign with the Hoops under-18s. Frame impressed in that side, to the extent that he joined the first-team squad in Portugal this summer.
After that experience, he joined up with Stephen McManus and Darren O’Dea’s Celtic B team for their season in the Lowland League, UEFA Youth League and more.
He has played in every competitive fixture so far this campaign and has also been capped by the Scotland under-19s side.

That all makes it sound like Frame is a name to keep an eye on. He is obviously a fair bit away from Rodgers’ first team at this stage. But, at 17, he has time firmly on his side.
He has earned interest from some big teams down south in the past. Back in May, reports said that Newcastle United were targeting him. Fellow Premier League sides Crystal Palace and Brighton were also said to be interested. With that in mind, it’s great news to have him tied up until 2026.
Celtic clearly have high hopes for fellow left-back Matthew Anderson — currently out on loan with our feeder club in Austria, Admira Wacker. Frame will need to get past him, Greg Taylor and probably some others if he ever wants to make it at Celtic.
But that’s all for another day. For now, he can just continue his development under McManus and O’Dea. He is definitely one to watch this season and beyond.
