Away from the rigours of the Celtic first team for a moment, we have some news from the Celtic Academy where our young stars of the future are currently taking part in the SuperCupNI Tournament.

The SuperCupNI tournament was founded in 1983 by Jim Weir, Victor Leonard, George Logan and former Celtic captain and club legend, Bertie Peacock.

Peacock played for Celtic between 1949 and 1961. During his time at the club he picked up a league title, two Scottish Cups and two League Cups.

In an interview with Stuart McCracken after the 2-0 semi-final win over Belvedere, McStay said, “We played there yesterday [the final venue] so we’ve got a feel for it.

“We’ve got good memories of it. It’s a lovely pitch. The boys loved the stadium and the atmosphere. For thirteen year olds to get that opportunity to play in that stage, that’s why we came here, in order to get some new experiences.

“So we look forward to a good day, a good experience for them tomorrow and we’re really looking forward to it.”

Kick off is at 11:30am and it can be watched via streaming service RecastTV where £10 gives you the chance to take in all six finals of the prestigious youth tournament.
