A Celtic U15s side is in Germany this weekend to take part in a Sunday tournament alongside some recognisable clubs from around Europe.

The young Bhoys play on Sunday with St Pauli, PAOK, Hajduk Split, FK Teplice, Wurzburger Kickers, Arminia Bielefield and Bayernauswahl all also featuring in the competition hosted by TSVgg Hausen near Frankfurt.

The team arrived in the country tonight to prepare for their fixtures and will be hoping to travel back to Glasgow with the silverware, emulating some of the older Academy groups this season.

The U18s and Celtic B sides were at Paradise today showing off the trophies they won earlier this month.

Stuart McLaren’s outfit came out on top in a very exciting Scottish Youth Cup final, while the B side emerged from a thriller of their own in the Glasgow Cup final.

Ange Postecoglou has handed competitive debuts to Ben Summers, Rocco Vata and Bosun Lawal this season, with a small clutch of prospects now training full-time with the first team at Lennoxtown.

There’s hope that some of them can start to compete more consistently for minutes over the next 12 months, something Postecoglou himself indicated back in January.

While these U15s clearly have a way to go to earn professional terms with the Bhoys, this weekend will be a great experience for them to represent the club abroad.

The very best of luck to them in their matches this weekend!
