New Celtic signing Ciaran Dickson has made an immediate impact for the B side after joining from rivals Rangers.

The Scottish U19 international was handed a start in the second round of the SPFL Trust Trophy, facing off against Scottish Championship side Greenock Morton.

And he scored in the first half to give his team a chance against tough opposition. Sadly Celtic would go on to lose 3-1, but Dickson will be encouraged by his debut.

Dickson was at one point highly rated at Rangers and even made a senior appearance for the club in the League Cup last season. He came off the bench in a 4-0 victory away to Falkirk.

However, despite being called a “key performer” for their academy sides and signing a new contract in January, he found himself without a club this summer.

He’s now signed up at the Bhoys and will be looking to make a consistent impact under Celtic B boss Tommy McIntyre alongside other prospects such as Bosun Lawal and Owen Moffat.

Dickson plays as a central midfielder and has represented Scotland at the U16, 17, 18 and 19 age groups, demonstrating the potential he’s held from an early age.

We’ll be eagerly watching his progress, just like the rest of the Celtic youngsters.
