Promising Celtic loan Bhoy hits form today with 2 goals in 2 games
Young Celtic midfielder Luca Connell has hit a bit of form on loan at Queen’s Park, today scoring his second goal in two matches during a 6-0 Scottish League One victory over Falkirk.
Queen’s Park are flying high this season after the addition of key club staff and heavy financial backing, looking to make it into the Scottish Championship from the third tier.
Connell has been a regular in the team since re-joining on loan and now has four goals for himself in nine league appearances.
His progress at the Bhoys has been slow since joining from Bolton, but supporters are keeping fires lit for his return having been impressed by him in pre-season showings over the last couple of years.
He’s likely hitting a crossroads in his Celtic career when he returns from Queen’s Park, so it’s heartening to see he is buckling down and making an impact.
There’s an argument he should be playing at a higher level but the Glasgow side have big ambitions and there is pressure there to win consistently right now.
Being part of a promotion push won’t do his confidence any harm at all and he wasn’t going to get minutes at the start of this Ange Postecoglou project.
I’m excited to see if he can carry this goalscoring from midfield deeper into the season and really cement himself as one of the league’s top performers.
