The two Celtic prospects to watch after eight sign professional deals

Celtic have handed eight Academy players their first professional contracts, but the announcement itself offers few clues about who could be closest to taking the next step.

Jacob Cameron, Lennon Watt, Warren Lyall, Cayden Anderson, Shay Forrester, Mark Harris, Jake Clements and Rhys Brownlie have signed three-year deals with Celtic.

Two names already have far more behind them than a new Celtic contract.

Lennon Watt is the first Celtic youngster to watch

The first name is Lennon Watt. The Celtic youngster has already decided two matches for Scotland Under-16s.

Watt scored an injury-time winner against Romania in February before netting the only goal against Wales three days later. Those goals helped Scotland Under-16s win all three matches during their Cyprus camp.

Cayden Anderson also scored in the 4-1 victory over Cyprus, while Cameron and Harris were part of the same squad.

Celtic had four players involved, but Watt delivered the two match-winning moments.

Warren Lyall brings serious pedigree to Celtic

The second name is Warren Lyall. The goalkeeper has already started for Scotland Under-17s in European Championship qualifying.

Lyall started when Scotland defeated England in European Championship qualifying last October. He remained in the squad for the Elite Round in March while still registered with Dundee.

Lyall had also been assessed on trial by Arsenal and started Dundee’s 2025 Scottish Youth Cup final. For a goalkeeper only now signing professional terms, that CV is difficult to ignore.

Celtic have backed all eight with professional contracts, so dismissing the other six would be foolish. Watt’s goals and Lyall’s Scotland and Arsenal experience make them the two names supporters should remember.
