Celtic have today published highlights of the B team victory over East Stirlingshire in the Scottish Lowland Football League on Friday night.
The young Bhoys have hit a good spell of form in recent weeks, winning four games straight in the league.
Rocco Vata has been one of the team’s most consistent players throughout the season and it was his second-half strike that secured the points against the Shire. He latched on to a fine through ball from Kenzie Carse to smash a fierce shot in off the crossbar. You can see the goal on Celtic’s YouTube channel.
As we discussed over the weekend, B team boss is delighted with Rocco’s progress, telling Celtic TV: “We got a great goal. I thought it was a fabulous goal. He was probably the best player on the night so he deserved the goal.
“He’s got to get a lot of credit himself. He’s just natural. He plays and we coach him but he’s got to perform on the day. He’s certainly taking everything on board we’re trying to get out of him. There’s more to come from him, there’s no doubt, but he’s young. What a fantastic goal tonight.”
Bonnyrigg Rose are having a great season and forging a path ahead of the rest in the league table. However, Celtic still very much have an opportunity to finish second, sitting just three points behind Rangers B with a game in hand.

It remains to be seen whether or not the B team project is one with significantly boosts the pathway to the first-team but with players such as Owen Moffat and Joey Dawson recently called up for inclusion in the senior squad, some of them clearly aren’t far away.
It’d be great to see some of them more involved in match day squads over the next few months.
