Celtic have been fortunate enough to sign some truly talented players over the years.
Hoops fans have been lucky enough to see the likes of Henrik Larsson and Chris Sutton walk through the Parkhead gates and play a role in all of the success.
Recent years have seen Celtic totally dominate Scottish football, and that is because of the signings brought into the club.
Looking at Brendan Rodgers‘ side now, nearly all of those signings joined the club within the last five years, and will go down as some of the better ones in history.
Here, 67 Hail Hail takes a look at Celtic’s top five signings since 2020.

5. Cameron Carter-Vickers
Cameron Carter-Vickers is easily one of the best defenders at the club since Virgil van Dijk.
The USMNT star initially joined the Hoops in 2021 on a loan with an option to buy, but instantly caught the eye under Ange Postecoglou.

| Goals*: 8 |
Throughout his time in Glasgow, Carter-Vickers has been the number one option in the centre-back position.
That £6m paid to keep him permanently seems like pennies nowadays, and it is hard to imagine where Celtic would be without his presence at the back.
4. Alistair Johnston
Sure, there may be more glamorous signings than Alistair Johnston to walk through the door in these last five years, but there aren’t many that are more important.
Right-back had been a problem for some time for the Hoops, and the addition of the Canada international solved those problems.

| Appearances*: 115 |

Johnston was thrown into the deep end with a debut in the Glasgow derby against Rangers, but looked the part straight away and has held down the fort for some time.
He now has a future challenger in Colby Donovan coming through the ranks, but the current number one looks like he is here to stay for some time.
3. Matt O’Riley
When a player leaves, the reaction of a fanbase can tell you if they were a success or not. Matt O’Riley’s departure was a mix of sadness, but also pride for the midfielder.
Signed from MK Dons for a tiny fee, the midfielder made a huge impact at Celtic Park.

O’Riley scored big goals against Rangers and his last-minute winner against Motherwell will live long in the memory.
He eventually left for Brighton & Hove Albion in 2024 for £26m, and will go down as one of the best of recent times.
2. Daizen Maeda
Daizen Maeda was a fan favourite from the moment he made his Celtic debut. A goal against Aberdeen on his first appearance set the tone, and he has been a focal point of the attack.
Maeda’s 33-goal season in the 2024/25 campaign represented a real step-up in the Japan international’s game, and is the reason why there is so much interest in his signature.

His ability to play on the left wing and the number nine position makes him a nightmare for oppositions to deal with.
Big moments require big players, and the 27-year-old has proved that time and time again.
1. Kyogo Furuhashi
After the successes of Odsonne Edouard and Moussa Dembele, there were fears that Celtic may struggle to find a regular goal scorer. Enter Kyogo Furuhashi.
It wouldn’t be remiss to say that Kyogo is the best striker the club have had since Larsson.

The forward’s goal record speaks for itself, his big-moment goals against Rangers, and cup finals, brought endless success too.
Seeing him leave was a real bitter blow, but fans will look back at the Kyogo era and say ‘I was there’ in the future.
