Viljami Sinisalo is the goalkeeper that Celtic hope will be the long-term successor to Kasper Schmeichel.

Signed in the summer 2024 transfer window, Sinisalo was signed on the same day as Celtic confirmed the arrival of Schmeichel.

Brendan Rodgers is a huge fan of the former Aston Villa man and although he expected to spend the season on the bench, an injury to Schmeichel meant that his deputy was thrown into the starting XI.

Viljami Sinisalo was born in Espoo, Finland on October 11, 2001. He spent a large portion of his youth career in his homeland before signing for Aston Villa in 2018.

Sinisalo had a number of loan spells away, including one in Scotland with Ayr United before joining the Bhoys in 2024.
