Celtic will look to extend their lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership today with a win against Kilmarnock at Parkhead.

Brendan Rodgers will be looking to get some much-needed consistency in terms of performance and will look to pick up another three points that will put some daylight between Celtic and Rangers, who play tomorrow at noon.

Kilmarnock have proven to be one of Celtic’s toughest opponents this season as Derek McInnes’ side have knocked Rodgers out of the League Cup and beaten Celtic in the league earlier this season in a 2-1 win at Rugby Park.

So with that in mind, who will Rodgers look to and try exact revenge on the Ayrshire side? Here is our prediction on the starting XI…

Potential Celtic team vs Kilmarnock

Joe Hart will, as always resume his place in between the sticks. The veteran goalkeeper has only missed one game this season due to suspension.

Brendan Rodgers confirmed yesterday that Greg Taylor will be back in the squad today whilst Alistair Johnston and Cameron Carter-Vickers still miss out due to injury. Has Alexandro Bernabei done enough over the past couple of weeks to keep his starting place?

In the midfield, captain Callum McGregor will be the first name on the team sheet alongside Matt O’Riley and questions remain on whether Paulo Bernardo will make the team or be relegated to the bench to make way for Adam Idah.

On the wings, Luis Palma is likely to retain his place as is Daizen Maeda after both impressed in last weekend’s win over St Mirren and up-front, Kyogo Furuhashi keeps his place after his goalscoring performance last week.

With options on the bench, Rodgers can call on Nicolas Kuhn, Bernabei, and Hyeongyu Oh if he sees fit to.

Predicted Celtic XI vs Kilmarnock is; Hart, Ralston, Welsh, Scales, Taylor, McGregor, O’Riley, Palma, Kyogo, Maeda, Idah.
