67 Hail Hail fans name their man of the match from Celtic's narrow win against Falkirk

It wasn’t pretty but Celtic made it back-to-back wins under Martin O’Neill.

Benjamin Nygren’s header was the difference against Falkirk as the Bhoys moved back up to second in the table, six points behind Hearts.

That win means O’Neill has won more points than any Celtic manager this season and still has a 100 per cent win record in domestic games this season.

O’Neill admitted that Celtic were fortunate to take the lead as they were penned in by the hosts for the majority of the night.

Three points is three points though and after the game, the 67 Hail Hail audience took to TalkingPoints to name their man of the match.

Liam Scales named as Celtic man of the match against Falkirk

There weren’t many standout players if truth be told on Wednesday night.

Daizen Maeda looked anonymous up top while Hyunjun Yang failed to show any signs of his recent upturn in form.

One supporter commented on our TalkingPoints dicussion thread: “Scales had himself a game in the back, was an absolute beast!”

Another wrote: “Liked what I saw from Scales.”

A third added: “I was impressed with Scales. Looked back to his best.”

There was also a mention for Julian Araujo, who has looked more than competent since joining on loan for the season.

Scales has been one of Celtic’s most consistent performers in recent memory but like many of his teammates, struggled under Wilfried Nancy.

Playing in a back three didn’t bring out his strengths and he was eventually dropped from the side.

Since O’Neill’s return, the Republic of Ireland international has come straight back into the team and made an instant impact.

Two clean sheets in two games, something Celtic couldn’t manage under Nancy, and two wins from two proves that Scales makes the Hoops better.
