67 Hail Hail’s writers forecast a fairytale end for Martin O’Neill in Celtic vs Dundee prediction

Martin O’Neill will be in the Celtic dugout for one last time on Wednesday night.

Celtic face Dundee with a chance to go top of the Scottish Premiership if they can better Hearts’ result against Kilmarnock.

O’Neill revealed that this would be his last game in charge before the Frenchman Wilfried Nancy takes over after a delay in getting the paperwork done.

The 73-year-old said he won’t cry at full time but there will be a bittersweet feeling as a true Celtic legend hopes to end on a high.

In the hope of it ending on a high note, we writers at 67 Hail Hail have given our predictions for how the game will go.

What do you think the score will be?

Nobody could’ve predicted how well O’Neill was going to do here. As someone who was too young to fully remember his first spell in charge, I’m so grateful that I’ve been able to see him in the Celtic Park dugout.

This team has looked miles better than the one he inherited and it feels like a squad that would run through brick walls for him.

That defeat to Dundee earlier in the season feels like a distant memory, and I would back the Bhoys to get the job done in convincing fashion.

Prediction: Celtic 3-0 Dundee

Amir Mir

Martin O’Neill will bow out in style. This Dundee side are there for the taking. If Celtic can get an early goal, then the floodgates will open.

Prediction: Celtic 4-0 Dundee

Patrick Sinat

Do you agree with Paddy’s prediction?

Ever since beating Celtic, Dundee went on a horror run of four straight defeats conceding 11 goals in the process. Celtic will be desperate to get revenge for that result and have Martin O’Neill leaving the club on a high. With the team playing well and high in confidence, I expect a big win at Celtic Park. Prediction: Celtic 5 v 0 Dundee

Martin Crawford

It’s remarkable that we lost 2-0 to Dundee last time out given that they’ve lost all but one of their games since.

The Hibs and St Mirren performances may not have been easy on the eye (or heart rate), but O’Neill has won both of his home games 4-0. I’ll back him to make it a treble in his send-off.

Prediction: Celtic 4-0 Dundee
