Ange Postecoglou provides Ryan Christie Celtic injury update
Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou is again able to call upon the services of Ryan Christie this weekend, he’s confirmed in his pre-match press conference.
Christie missed the recent wins over Hearts and AZ Alkmaar after picking up a knock against Jablonec at Celtic Park.
Thankfully it wasn’t too serious and the Bhoys boss confirmed he’ll be involved tomorrow.
Speaking to media today, Postecoglou said [Celtic YouTube]: “Yeah, Ryan’s good. He’s trained the last couple of days and he’s ready to go.
“Everyone has sort of pulled up okay after the game. It was a pretty punishing game to be fair so there might be a few sore bodies in the group, I’ll give them right up until tomorrow to see how they are. We’ll probably make one or two changes but who that is at the moment I’m keeping an open mind on.
“It’s good to have Ryan back in the group and he’s certain to play a part tomorrow.”
Christie has been in sublime form at the start of the season so his return to the match squad is very, very welcome.
He’s created three assists and scored a goal in his first six appearances. His overall play has also been a major part of the strides that Celtic have made in recent weeks.
As Postecoglou notes, his presence should freshen things up with a number of other players being put through the mill with regards to match schedule and performance intensity.
I wouldn’t be surprised to see a player such as Tom Rogic drop out tomorrow at Christie’s expense, given the Australian’s efforts recently.
Regardless of any changes made, the team should be strong enough to see off St Mirren.
