Adam Idah has been at the brunt of some criticism at Celtic.

Some has come from fans and other criticism has come from pundits who seem to want to use Adam Idah’s transfer fee as a stick to beat the Celtic striker with.

After Idah recievied criticism for enjoy a night out after being given time off by Brendan Rodgers, the Republic of Ireland international may well have felt under some undue pressure after bieng named in Celtic’s starting XI to face St Johnstone at Hampden.

However, Idah’s inclusion vindicated Rodgers’ decision after he scored the Hoops’ third goal in the Celtic’s defeat of St Johnstone as BBC man Martin Dowden shared what the Parkhead gaffer did to celebrate his goal.

Brendan Rodgers ‘points to the sky’ in Celtic celebration

Rodgers knew that heading into the Scottish Cup tie that there was a bit of pressure on his side after being defeated by St Johnstone in the Scottish Premiership two weeks ago.

And as Idah forced his goal and Celtic’s third, the Hoops boss knew then that his bid to win a treble was guaranteed as he made his way into yet another Hampden final.

Dowden told the BBC, “Brendan Rodgers points to the sky in celebration. He’s leaving Hampden with yet another win, as he always does.

“Home and hosed by half-time.”

Adam Idah’s goalscoring record this season should silence Celtic critics

Let’s get one thing straight, Adam Idah can do nothing about the fee Celtic paid Norwich to bring him to Parkhead. That was a decision between the two clubs.

That seems to be the biggest reason Idah is getting criticised but considering he has played second-fiddle to Kyogo Furuhashi and now Daizen Maeda, the big Irishman’s strike rate is not as bad as some are making out.

Already Idah’s goalscoring record is better at Celtic than at any other point in his career and, at just 24, maybe people need to get off his back and let him play rather than jumping on and criticising him.
