The work begins now to fight back for the Scottish Premiership title this weekend.
Celtic face St Mirren on Saturday night knowing that they can close the gap on Hearts to four, for at least a day.
It’s a repeat of the opening day fixture that saw the Hoops scrape past with a 1-0 win thanks to Luke McCowan’s 88th minute strike.
Since Martin O’Neill returned, things have been going much better in the league and this weekend will present the Bhoys with the chance to do something for the first time since his last spell in charge.

Poll: St Mirren vs Celtic predictions
Martin O’Neill aiming for three 4-0 wins in a row
In the first two league games under O’Neill’s stewardship, the Hoops have been in fine form.
Falkirk and Kilmarnock were both beaten 4-0 and a repeat of that would be a momentous occasion.
According to the BBC Sport stat pack, the Bhoys haven’t won three successive games by scoring four or more – as well as keep a clean sheet – since 2003.
So far it’s three wins out of four for the 73-year-old back in the dugout and as history will show, he is likely to continue that trend.
Celtic in fine form against St Mirren
Stephen Robinson has done some impressive work since taking over the Buddies, but has always struggled against Celtic.
His one and only victory in charge of St Mirren against the Hoops came in September 2022, but since then, all 29 of his other meetings have either ended in draws or defeats.
Celtic’s last five results vs St Mirren
Celtic’s last visit to Paisley was a five-star performance as the Hoops ran out 5-2 winners on a night that saw Hyunjun Yang grab a brace.
A repeat of that given how close the other two encounters have been would be very welcome news for the Hoops.
