All the talk in the USA right now is about Donald Trump winning the election, but two Celtic players deserve more of the limelight.
Whilst Trump and Kamala Harris battled for the White House in the USA, across the pond and over in Glasgow two other Americans were battling for some much-needed Champions League points.
Cameron Carter-Vickers and Auston Trusty started at the heart of the defence for Celtic against RB Leipzig at Parkhead.
Despite facing a potentially wounded animal that is a Pot one seed, but had lost their opening three matches, Celtic breezed to a commanding 3-1 win over Leipzig.
Brendan Rodgers has come under a lot of stick for how his teams perform in Europe, but he is starting to answer a lot of his critics now.
That was one of Celtic’s best displays in Europe and it now increases the team’s chances of, not just securing a play-off spot, but possibly looking towards the top eight.
All under the cloud of Carter-Vickers and Trusty helping break a record for their country, so forget about Trump, give some much-needed love to Carter-Vickers and Trusty.

A record nine US internationals feature in a Champions League matchday
Before the game, there was a lot of talk as to whether Rodgers would start Scales or Trusty, but he rightfully stuck with his summer signing.
Trusty and Carter-Vickers are growing as a partnership and it shouldn’t be a surprise given how well they know each other.
But the involvement of those two players, alongside Christian Pulisic and Yunus Musah for AC Milan, Malik Tillman and Ricardo Pepi for PSV, Timothy Weah and Weston McKennie for Juventus, and Cole Campbell for Borussia Dortmund means that they are in the U.S ‘Soccer’ record books.
America hasn’t had more of their players involved in a Champions League matchday, so all of those players are now part of history, as posted by Golazo America on Twitter.
Cameron Carter-Vickers and Auston Trusty stats for Celtic against Leipzig
Scales hasn’t done anything wrong to be dropped, it’s just a case of Trusty bringing a new level to the game.
Celtic have some serious competition across the pitch. At left-back with Greg Taylor and Alex Valle, as well as in the middle of the park and upfront.
And the centre-back competition is no different, with WhoScored rating Trusty’s performance against Leipzig at 6.98 and Carter-Vickers earning a rating of 6.67.
