Celtic’s first goal against Dundee sparked plenty of confusion, as everyone was left unsure over who had scored it.

Benjamin Nygren and Hyunjun Yang were both on hand to stick a toe out to put the Hoops ahead at Dens Park, but each had very different reactions. Nygren wheeled away to celebrate what he believed to be his 20th of the season whereas Yang looked visibly frustrated to miss out.

Officials had initially awarded it to Nygren before later changing their minds so we thought the 67 Hail Hail audience would be better placed to answer the question on TalkingPoints.

Replays of the goal from a zoomed-out angle made it difficult to decipher, but a close-up inspection seems to suggest officials made the right call with giving it to Yang.

67 Hail Hail fans were also in agreement as 77 per cent of voters felt that the South Korean got the final touch to give the Bhoys the lead.

Both players seemed confused throughout the game, constantly checking with each other to determine who had been credited with the goal.

Now that it is confirmed, Nygren continues to wait for his illustrious 20th goal and Yang can now say he is enjoying his best-ever goalscoring season.

Scott Brown hails underrated Yang

Although he is a frustrating player at times, Yang has come on leaps and bounds after initially looking like a player who would even struggle in the fourth tier of Scottish football.

His performances under Martin O’Neill and Wilfried Nancy have shown a big improvement, and Scott Brown feels he is the most underrated player in the side.

“Yang, he has put a power of work in, off the ball as well,” Brown said on BBC Sportsound. “He’s underestimated. I know we talk about Daizen Maeda all the time but Yang does put in so much workrate for the team off the ball.

“On the ball people always expect him to do things but people forget about that side of the game.”
