Celtic fans appear to have made their mind up on Brendan Rodgers after the embarrassing loss against Hearts.

Defeat at Tynecastle on Sunday means the Hoops are now eight points behind Derek McInnes’ men and in real danger of allowing a side outside of Glasgow to claim the league title for the first time in 40 years.

Frustrations have largely been pointed towards the board, but now questions are being asked about the Celtic manager.

Celtic fans want Brendan Rodgers sacked

As soon as the full-time whistle went, those in the away end vented their frustrations towards Rodgers while others confirmed on social media that they want to see the North Irishman given his marching orders.

@JoyceConor said: “Get Rodgers gone. When was the last meaningful game he won?”

@EddyGrady added: “Have been saying it for weeks now that our Achilles Heel is actually Brendan Rodgers. Totally scunnered by his constant baffling starting 11s, his arrogance towards favouritism of non performing players and his ignoring of players who really should be given a chance. Time to go!”

@ShawGerry commented: “The club needs major work, an ancient out of touch board, a talentless executive and now a coach who can’t make a good decision for making bad ones. They all need replaced. Let’s start with BR while the season is still salvageable.”

@Bricky67_ stated: “Rodgers & co time to go.”

Brendan Rodgers accuses Celtic of gifting Hearts the game

There isn’t anybody that will claim that Celtic deserved something from the game, however, Rodgers believes that his side were the architects of their own downfall.

He told BBC Scotland: “I just think we gave it away too easily. We’ve got to do better with the [second goal]. He likes to come inside, he likes to shoot.

“And then we make the mistake for the penalty, so all of a sudden it’s 3-1.

“Its a game we should take something from, but we didn’t do enough.”
