Celtic fans react as teams news drops vs Hibernian, not happy with Jeffrey Schlupp call

It feels like the morning after the night before for Celtic as they prepare to get back to the bread and butter of domestic action.

Celtic’s Champions League exit will still be stinging, especially given how it came all about after that late Alphonso Davies goal in stoppage time.

But with Brendan Rodgers’ side 13 points clear at the top of the Premiership table, they have another title to win and more trophies to bag.

Celtic take on Hibernian at Easter Road on Saturday afternoon and Rodgers has dropped team news from that trip to Munich in midweek.

Those donning green and white colours have also reacted to it all on social media.

Celtic fans react to team news vs Hibernian

As you can imagine, there were going to be changes, just to freshen things up and especially with another midweek game coming up.

Rodgers brought back Greg Taylor for the ever-popular Jeffrey Schlupp, whilst Luke McCowan came into midfield for Reo Hatate and Jota was dropped to the bench for Adam Idah.

It’s fair to say that a fair few Celtic fans weren’t happy with the calls Rodgers has made.

@maedamaestro wrote about Jota: ‘Jota on the bench, Jota Jotas on the bench’ 💔

@TheYungBucc shared his pennies worth and added: ‘Maeda through the middle is the only way. Taylor starting is non-sensical’.

There’s only one man dominating the team news reaction, as @cammy_67 added: ‘why drop schlupp lmao’.

@IanJakea3157 showed some love for McCowan: ‘It’s time for McCowan to show his worth’.

Reminder to disgruntled Celtic fans…

First of all, someone like Schlupp has hardly played this season, so to expect him to start back-to-back matches just like that isn’t going to happen.

Added to that, the Bhoys play in a few days again when they face Aberdeen at Celtic Park.

So, in that sense, you would expect that Schlupp will return to the XI, as will Hatate and Jota – and perhaps a few others, such as Liam Scales.

All gearing up nicely towards winning the Premiership title again and the big one against Rangers in the Premiership on March 16.
