It’s a sad fact that Celtic Park hasn’t always been as loud as we’re used to this season.
This is largely due to the absence of the Green Brigade, which began in November 2025 and has now continued indefinitely, remaining in place in mid-February.
In a season of fan discontent largely aimed at the board, the names of Michael Nicholson and co have regularly been heard from the stands, with Celtic fans calling for changes to the Parkhead hierarchy.
Usually, this comes in the form of the words ‘sack the board’, which has become a staple in the Celtic Park songbook. Banners have also become a regularity.
But at least fans are getting creative…

Celtic fans bring back Odsonne Edouard chant vs Livingston
Martin O’Neill’s name has been sung loud and proud since his interim return, in what will be a nostalgia high for many fans in the stadium.
However, it was soon reworded into the words ‘sack the board’… and now, another Celtic favourite’s chant has fallen victim.

Odsonne Edouard’s legacy at Celtic is about more than just a chant – he scored 88 goals across four seasons in Glasgow before joining Crystal Palace for £18 million.
But his ‘I wanna be Edouard’ chant didn’t do any harm to his popularity among Hoops fans… or The Stone Roses’ monthly listeners on Spotify.
It was back at Celtic Park on Wednesday, in board protest form, with chants of ‘I wanna sack the board’ being heard in the stadium during the first half.
A few fans have described it as the only highlight of the first half, and though it’s harsh on Marcelo Saracchi, it’s hard to disagree.
Celtic interim chairman Brian Wilson has vowed to meet with fans, including the Green Brigade, to put an end to the action which led to a boycott of Celtic’s win over Dundee.
But the Celtic Fans Collective have been here before this season, and they all know well that actions speak louder than words.

Martin O’Neill on Celtic fan protests
Speaking on the recent fan unrest this week, O’Neill said: “When I left this club in 2005 I thought there was a real strong togetherness.
“There’s always been a few things aimed against the board. Celtic were accused of having the biscuit-tin mentality years and years ago, were told they didn’t do this and didn’t do that.
“But it all seemed so almost innocent by comparison or contrast to what’s happening now. While I accept that life changes, it is a bit sad to see it at the moment.
“I’d like it to, if it can, be resolved. If some sort of conversations take place, that’s the only way it can be resolved. Not stand-offs.”
