Do you think Rangers are still living off that win over Celtic at Ibrox after the New Year?

Rangers supporters and Philippe Clement were certainly dancing about when that happened, even though Celtic’s lead at the top of the Premiership table remained as strong as it has ever been and they had just been beaten in the League Cup final the month before.

That’s just the mentality some clubs have, as Celtic continue to prove that they win when it matters most and produce when the pressure is on.

Either way, you can bet your bottom dollar that the Gers weren’t celebrating at Ibrox on Sunday because Championship side Queen’s Park knocked Rangers out of the Scottish Cup.

It’s another comical moment from Clement and his players, with James Tavernier producing a horror moment and seeing his penalty saved in stoppage time.

Only the day before, Celtic saw off Raith Rovers and booked their ticket to the next round of the Scottish Cup by scoring five goals.

Celtic provided the entertainment on Saturday and Rangers entertained the whole of Scotland on Sunday.

Chris Sutton jibes at Philippe Clement after Rangers lose to Queen’s Park

As mentioned above, Rangers thought they had achieved something significant when they beat Celtic after the New Year.

But everyone knew, at the time, that it was a blip in the road for Celtic and normal service would resume.

Well, normal service has resumed and Chris Sutton couldn’t help but aim a few jibes at the man in the Rangers dugout.

The former striker congratulated Queen’s Park on their victory before adding on social media ‘Rangers were progressing so well under big Phil…’

‘Well played Queens Park and Callum Ferrie 👏 👏,’ wrote Sutton. ‘And Rangers were progressing so well under big Phil…’

Celtic pushing for another Treble under Brendan Rodgers

Amid this woeful season for Rangers, they would have dreamt of one thing and that’s stopping Celtic from going for all the trophies.

But Celtic’s Treble chances have been boosted, as a result of Rangers getting knocked out, and another dominant campaign awaits Rodgers.

The Celtic boss – in both spells – has seen off many Rangers managers, it won’t be too long before Clement is out of the door and Rodgers is lifting more trophies aloft.
