Celtic and Brendan Rodgers are just sitting back and enjoying this season with a cigar in hand.
If you thought Celtic have been providing the entertainment of late – scoring 11 goals in their last two home matches – then you haven’t seen what Rangers and James Tavernier have been dishing out.
Just 24 hours after Celtic beat Raith Rovers to book their ticket to the next round of the Scottish Cup, those across the road, led by Philippe Clement, humiliated themselves once more.
Championship side Queen’s Park travelled to Ibrox on Sunday hoping to create history after 100 years and to a man they did that.
Callum Davidson’s side secured a deserved 1-0 win, beat Rangers in the Scottish Cup for the first time in over 100 years and booked their ticket into the next round.
To add cherry on top of the cake, Rangers were awarded their usual penalty and the man of the moment – James Tavernier – stepped up and watched his spot-kick saved by Queen’s Park’s hero of the moment, Callum Ferrie in stoppage-time.
Celtic’s Treble chances boosted as Rangers lose to Queen’s Park in Scottish Cup

Celtic beat Rangers in the League Cup final in December and are well on course to secure another Premiership title.
For months and months now, the Treble has been talked about, but with Rangers out of the picture, it has boosted Celtic’s chances because you just know that the Gers fans, during their miserable campaign, would have been so eager to stop that.
But just like in the League Cup final at Hampden, it’s penalties and that that pressure moment that have come to haunt Rangers again.
Derek Ferguson calls out Rangers boss Philippe Clement
Rodgers has seen off many Rangers managers over his two spells at the club, and in truth, it’s surprising that Clement has managed to last this long.
But Celtic and Rangers will next meet at Parkhead on March 16 where that 13-point lead at the top could be wider than it is.
However, will Clement be in charge because Derek Ferguson wasn’t a happy man post-match, as he questioned the Rangers manager’s future on BBC Sport.
“This is why Philippe Clement comes under serious threat to losing his job,” said Ferguson. “He’s got to win games like this with the quality that the manager has got at his disposal.”
