Celtic are looking to follow up their opening day win with three points on the road.

Luke McCowan’s late winner against St Mirren ensured that Brendan Rodgers’ incredible opening day record continued.

Some Rangers fans have given up on the title already and the Bhoys will be hoping to make it six points from six against Aberdeen.

A trip to Pittodrie is never easy and ahead of Sunday’s fixture, the referee appointment has been confirmed.

John Beaton named as referee for Aberdeen vs Celtic

As confirmed by the Scottish Football Association website, John Beaton will be the man in the middle for Aberdeen vs Celtic.

He will be joined by David McGeachie and Graeme Stewart as the assistant referees.

Meanwhile, on VAR will be Andrew Dallas, with Alan Mulvanny operating as the VAR assistant.

Beaton officiated Falkirk’s first Scottish Premiership game for 15 years last weekend where they drew 2-2 with Dundee United.

Celtic’s incredible record vs Aberdeen when John Beaton has reffed

The official may not always be the most popular amongst Celtic fans, but their opinion may change after seeing the record against Aberdeen when Beaton is in charge.

There have been six games between Aberdeen and Celtic with Beaton is in charge, and Celtic have won every single one of them.

The omens are good and it suggests that this weekend could end in another positive result.
