Celtic go from Scottish Premiership action to Scottish Cup duty this weekend as they face a short trip to Paisley for a tie against St Mirren.
The Hoops were knocked out of the Viaplay Cup at the first hurdle against Kilmarnock but remain in the other the main domestic cup competition, one they must be aiming to retain.
That could prove difficult because Celtic are not playing very well at the moment. The Hibs win in midweek was a frantic struggle and the draw last Saturday with Aberdeen was frustrating.
Brendan Rodgers sat in front of the media on Friday to deliver his thoughts ahead of the St Mirren clash and within that provided updates on five players.
So here is the latest Celtic injury news fresh out of Lennoxtown.
Celtic injury latest for St Mirren

Alistair Johnston
Many Celtic fans will be aware of what happened to right-back Alistair Johnston in midweek against Hibs. He was stretchered off early in the match due to a nasty head knock with defender Nectarios Triantis and Rodgers has now provided some news on him.
The manager said: “We’re just waiting on the result of a scan for him. So he won’t be available for the weekend we don’t think. We think he’s got a slight fracture at the side of his head so we’re just waiting on that.”
Cameron Carter-Vickers
Celtic’s rock at the back Cameron Carter-Vickers is always a huge miss when he is out injured and that is unfortunately more frequent than we’d like it to be.
Carter-Vickers was ruled out for three weeks by the Parkhead medical team before the trip to Aberdeen last weekend but Rodgers did have a relatively positive update to share.
He said: “He was back out on the training pitch but won’t be ready for the weekend.”
Oh and Yang
Oh Hyeon-gyu and Yang Hyun-jun have recently returned to the Celtic first-team squad after their exploits with South Korea at the Asian Cup.
The pair reached the semi-final stage of the competition but Jordan won the clash 2-0 and progressed to the final at the expense of South Korea.
Rodgers simply confirmed both Oh and Yang will be available for selection against St Mirren. Asked if they have came back in good condition, he replied: “Yeah really well.
“Obviously they were away for a period of time but they will fit in well. They trained really well this morning.”
Greg Taylor
Rodgers noted before the Hibs game that Greg Taylor may be back for the trip to Paisley on Sunday after suffering a calf strain a few weeks ago.
Unfortunately, it appears Alexandro Bernabei will still be in at left-back. Rodgers said of Taylor: “He is very close. I’m not sure he will make the weekend but if not he should be available for the following weekend.”
